Frequency of Anastomosis Leak in Primary Repair in Ileal Perforation

OBJECTIVES: To determine the frequency of anastomotic leak in primary closure patients presenting with enteric perforation. METHODOLOGY: Through a Descriptive case series Study Design, 253 perforated ilium and subjected to were included followed up post-operatively anastomosis leak. RESULTS: The mean age our sample was 42.2 years standard deviation 8.6 years. Out patients, 70.8% males, 29.2% females were. BMI study 24.6 + 2.2kg/m2. 61.3% belonged urban settings, 41.1% from lower socioeconomic class, 36.4% had middle school level education. On follow up, recorded 18.2% patients. CONCLUSION: Ileal perforation defect is most performed surgery for treatment, significant number developing leaks high, other treatment strategies must be researched reduce burden these complications.
